Sarah Hart and her friends use their talents to help those in need. "Some of us are, ahh, more talented than others. I am not. I'm just a beginner. But I find it fascinating to see what the other ladies have done."

They call themselves the "Blanket Buddies." Their mission--to bundle some of the most vulnerable living in local communities in warm clothing and blankets.

"We hope we're giving them warmth and comfort, and in return we get warmth and comfort back," says Sara Sywester.

Twice a month the women meet in the parlor of the Epiphany Lutheran Church to crochet and knit colorful skeens of yarn and swap patterns. Every sixty days, the buddies donate dozens of their handmade gifts to expecting moms and newborns in neonatal units at area hospitals like Holy Cross.

Vi Culler says, "One little boy just held onto one of the blankets at the hospital and he wouldn't let it go!"

The group has stitched and weaved more than 500 pieces of their fancy needlework. They're determined to continue their good will.

"It's jut a very rewarding feeling to be sharing, you know, my talent, all of our talents with others less fortunate," says Blanket Buddy Lynn Burkart.
