There?s a major comeback going on in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Northwest Washington.

Much of the area was destroyed during the riots of 1968 after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King.

Now, 24 new redevelopment projects are underway.

The Dance Institute of Washington on 14th Street is preparing for its grand opening.

The 12,000-square-foot facility is the new home of the Reflections Dance Company of Washington and houses a neighborhood daycare center on the first floor.

It sits right across the street from the Tivoli Theatre and now marks the cultural corner of Columbia Heights.

For more information about grand opening activities this week, including the free Family Day on Saturday, November 4th, call 202-371-9656.
