Home improvement projects usually include replacing old floors, counter tops and appliances.
But at an artist show house in Arlington, the renovation all comes from creativity, not contractors. But at this house, almost everything you see is fake.
Before you even step inside the faux house, if you've got a good eye, you might notice the brick walkway is really painted concrete. And inside, this beautiful marble and a wood floor is also just concrete, one of many elegant illusions.
Ann Bayer is one of the 100 artists who transformed the old Arlington house, much of it with faux finishings.
The home is also is filled with murals, beautiful artwork and trumpeloit paintings, images that look the like real thing, a bathrobe in the closet, a matchbook on the floor.
Ashley Spencer is one of the trumpeloit artists. She's from New Orleans. She joined the project because it's raising money for habitat for humanity in New Orleans. It's open for visitors until June 15.
The Faux house is located at 1457 North Longfellow Street in Arlington, just off Washington Boulevard. It costs $22 at the door to get in and it's open everyday through June 15th.
