Georgetown Crime Wave?

Another Georgetown student is "roughed-up" and robbed near campus. It comes just one week after another student was shot during a hold-up. Is Georgetown facing a crime wave?

John Dzundza is a Georgetown University student and a recent mugging victim. He was attacked just a couple of days ago. Just a few days before that, another student was attacked and robbed walking back to his dorm.

Police describe the latest wave of hold-ups in this upscale community as crimes of opportunity. Students with money were targeted, in many cases late at night or early in the morning on their way back to the dorms from the bars or a party.

But this isn't just a college thing. Students, residents and police all acknowledge the problem, now all they need to do is just figure out how to combat the growing and sometimes violent crime wave just off of campus, and the sooner the better.
