When you think about scientists, images of Albert Einstein and his wild white hair probably come to mind.
But one of the nation's top young scientists is shattering that image. In fact People magazine has called him the sexiest engineer in the U.S. And he lives in nearby Laurel, Md.
He?s 6?2 and has a dazzling smile. For years, Dwight Williams has modeled for newspaper and television ads -- but just as a hobby.
In real life, he?s a rocket scientist. Really.
Dr. Dwight Williams is a nuclear physicist who works for the defense department as a chief engineer. At 35, he?s just been named National Young Engineer of the Year, the first African American to ever receive that honor.
This is not the first time Williams has been in the national spotlight. Last year, People magazine named him "Sexiest Engineer in the United States."
William?s wife Sonja, yes wife, is the first to admit he's the total package -- good looks, brains and brawn. He says modeling has given him the confidence to pursue his dreams.
But it?s his family that keeps him going. While Dwight Williams says he's honored by all the recognition he's received for his work, his biggest blessing will be the birth of his first child in about four months.
