The wife of popular Washington-area radio personality Don Geronimo was killed Sunday in a car accident in Ocean City.
Fifty-year-old Freda Wright-Sorce was a frequent contributor to the nationally syndicated "Don and Mike Show."
Wright-Sorce often called in to the comedy show on Washington radio station WJFK, which is known for its outlandish humor and pranks.
State police say her vehicle was struck head-on Sunday afternoon by a vehicle that crossed the median on Route 90 in an attempt to avoid a pile-up. She died later at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
Geronimo was spending time with their son Monday. The remaining members of the show announced the death Monday afternoon.
Co-host Mike O'Meara told listeners that Wright-Sorce was the "conscience of this show.
