A teenager has died and another injured after a fiery crash in Springfield apparently caused by two cars that were racing.
Fairfax County police say 17-year-old Adam Foote was treated for injuries but didn't survive. Foote was a passenger in one of the cars.
Police say drivers in a Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro were racing on Old Keene Mill Road about 2:30 p.m., at the same time a Ford dump truck was trying to make a left hand turn, and the Mustang smashed into its rear end.
The impact sent the truck crashing into a third car driven by a 63-year-old woman. The Camaro crashed into a light pole, and the driver was uninjured.
