It seems like everyday more and more information is available right at our fingertips.

Now imagine being in your car, but able to see the traffic that lies ahead right there on your cell phone. As 9 News' Cindy Pena reports the technology is already here.

As reported by Cindy Pena

Say it is 6:00 p.m. and you are still at the office, but before getting in the car, you check the computer to see the ride home is going.

Trafficland.com has combined 300 of the area's traffic cameras, and loaded them onto one website, where drivers can see the traffic and road conditions before it's too late.

Law enforcement agencies like the Fairfax County police are also using Trafficland. They were able to see the tornadoes spring up in parts of Northern Virginia last month.

Now imagine all of this technology available on your cellphone. Cell phones with web access can also log on to Trafficland.com, giving drivers an instant look at what lies ahead.

You can access the system, pre-program routes, scroll through the latest shot to see what the roadways are like.

But there is caution surrounding this latest communication. Larry Nelson says the technology comes with a warning: Do not watch the traffic on your cell phone while driving.
