
As the saying goes - good writers write about what they experience... And if you're in the DC area, you're probably experiencing cicada mania.
Adam Faleder's third grade class at Forest Knolls Elementary School in Montgomery County decided to put their Language Arts Curriculum to good use. After studying the intricate parts of poetry, they wrote a poem and put it to music.
The class, accompanied by their teacher on guitar, performed the work in WUSA*TV9's studio.
It goes something like this...
We found them on the trees and grass And right outside our doors Cicadas - came out in two thousand four.
