Austin, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Isaiah Taylor scored 14 points to help the Texas Longhorns pull out a 67-64 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in a Big 12 conference battle at the Erwin Center.
Javan Felix added 12 points for Texas (12-4, 1-2 Big 12).
Robert Turner and Jaye Crockett each netted 19 points for Texas Tech (8-8, 0-3).
Texas Tech held a slim, 33-32, lead at halftime after shooting 40 percent from the floor and connecting on 11-of-18 from the free-throw line. Texas shot a superior 44.4 percent overall but had just five points at the charity stripe.
The Longhorns shot 45.8 percent from the floor in the second period and knocked down 13-of-15 from the free-throw line to escape with the win. Texas Tech shot 52.4 percent from the field in the frame, but had only 11 total field goals.
Texas outscored the Red Raiders 32-22 in the paint, while holding a 32-24 edge in rebounds.
