Woman charged for assault of husband over overcooked steak

Rock Hill, SC (WLTX) -- A woman was arrested by Rock Hill Police and charged with Criminal Domestic Violence after allegedly assaulting her husband for overcooking her steak.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports (http://bit.ly/VlYfP0) that 49-year-old Norma Allen was allegedly upset with her husband over how her dinner was prepared Tuesday.

Police tell the Herald they first responded to the apartment after a report was called in, saying a woman was banging on a neighbor's door, screaming for help. Allen then allegedly called police herself, claiming her husband had a gun, and then called back to say he wasn't actually armed. Responding Officers also say in their report that Allen pulled the fire alarm in the apartment, "because the police weren't coming fast enough."

According to the Police report, Allen became upset after her husband overcooked her steak, and an argument began. The husband then stated in the report that Allen began hitting him and choking him, allegations supported by Police statements in the report saying the husband had visible scratches and a bruised neck.

The Police report went on to say the husband pushed her to the floor and tried to hold her down in an attempt to stop the attack, but she was able to escape and ran out of the apartment. Allen's statement to Police claims she was assaulted by her husband after mentioning the way her steak was overcooked, however, according to Police, she was unable to give Officers any other information and didn't have any visible injuries.

In addition, Police say Allen tried to resist arrest when they attempted to put handcuffs on her, but eventually was placed under arrest and issued a citation for Criminal Domestic Violence.
