TSA: More than 1,100 guns seized this year

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The Transportation Security Administration has a message for you if you're traveling with a fire-arm: check in the gun or leave it home.

So far this year, the TSA has confiscated more than 1,100 guns from passengers who were trying to get on the airplane with the weapons.

They say a majority of the guns were loaded.

Here's what they posted on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon: "TSACatch - These are just a few of the firearms discovered in carry-on bags this month. So far, over 1,100 firearms have been discovered in carry-on bags this year, the majority of them loaded. Left to right, top to bottom, the firearms were discovered at Atlanta, Cincinnati, Austin, Baltimore, Wichita, Sacramento, Phoenix, Denver, and Dallas."
