CHICAGO (WUSA9) -- The Chicago Tribune reports that former Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood found a man's body floating in the Belmont Harbor on Monday morning.
According to the newspaper, the retired pitcher was paddle boarding when he saw the body and he called 911.
The Tribune reports that there was an identification tag on the man's wrist that indicated he had been reporting missing by a nursing home. The medical examiner's office later identified him as a 40-year-old man from the area but an autopsy was inconclusive, according to the Tribute.
Kerry Wood not issued a statement about the incident, according to the Tribune.
