WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- It was just about 24 hours ago that we got the stunning news - Pope Benedict the 16th is resigning at the end of the month.

Catholic University professor Kurt Martens talked more about this history-making papal resignation. The last time a Pope resigned was in 1415.  Martens talked about Benedict's legacy, and possible candidates for the position.
