(WUSA) -- Washington loves to spend taxpayer dollars and Senator Tom Coburn is out with this year look at what he thinks is TRIVAL Congressional spending in his so-called Wastebook report.
The Oklahoma Republican outlines 100 different Congressionally approved programs he says waste more than $18 billion.
The list includes:
- a loophole which allows the NFL, NHL and PGA qualify as non-profit organizations
- a $325,000 grant to build a robotic squirrel to see how the animals interact with rattlesnakes -- which duplicates an earlier study.
- $24 million in spending to maintain contracts for selling typewriters.
