WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The local community is coming together to stand strong with Orlando and to show support for the victims and their families.
The fountain in Dupont Circle is now a makeshift memorial for the Orlando victims. It is adorned with flowers, candles, signs of support as well as rainbow flags and beads. In the hustle and bustle of the Monday morning commute, people stopped to reflect, take pictures, some even dropped to their knees to pray.
D.C. residents are showing their support in various ways. Some have been attending scheduled vigils, while others may be choosing to go a different route. Donating blood is one way to help the dozens of survivors at the hospital in Orlando.
There are several places in the District Metro area where you can donate blood, according to the Red Cross.
