Motorcyclist dies after swerving to avoid stopped car

LANHAM, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Laurel man died after he swerved his motorcycle to avoid hitting a car stopped at a red light on Wednesday night in Lanham, say Prince George's County police.

According to police, 46-year-old Francis Allan Hall was traveling eastbound on Annapolis Road at 6:30 p.m. and was approaching Martin Luther King Jr. Highway when he encountered the car. He lost control, hit a curb and then struck the car. Police say he died a short time later at a hospital.
