FORT DETRICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- A fire broke out at the construction site of the soon to be new home to the United States Army Medical Research Institute and Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), officials say.
Multiple units responded to the fire on Aug. 14 at about 2 p.m. in Fort Detrick, Md. Two contractors working at the site were treated at the scene with non-life threatening injuries. They were then taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital to be evaluated, The Fort Detrick Public Affairs Office said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
