First Lady And Nickelodeon Stars Visit Alexandria School

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA) -- At 10 o'clock Friday morning, the auditorium at Hayfield Secondary School felt more like a rock concert than an event for the first lady.  Students sang and danced in their seats for over an hour as they waited for Michelle Obama and the cast of hit TV show, iCarly.

"They were really loud," said iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove.  "I think that was the loudest crowd we've had.  It was pretty intense.  Piecing.  Hurt my ears."

The cast of iCarly took the stage alongside Michelle Obama to debut a special episode called , "iMeet the First Lady."  Michelle Obama makes an appearance to raise awareness about how tough it is for kids who have parents in the military.  Hayfield Secondary School was chosen for the event because it has one of the highest concentrations of military families in the country.

"It's rough.  It's really rough," said 8th grader Jasmyne Copeland,  "We moved around a lot, had to go to a couple different schools."

"It's not easy changing schools every few years and keeping your grades up and knowing that your dad is away serving in another part of the world," said Obama.

Copeland called the screening and subsequent Q&A the, "best experience ever.  It was just amazing."

"iMeet the First Lady" will air Monday, January 16th on Nickelodeon.
