(WUSA9) -- Howard County Police say they have arrested a man who was wanted for shooting his estranged girlfriend and her friend in a nail salon in Ellicott City in July 2012.
According to police, Tuan Minh Pham of Beltsville, Md. was wanted for attempted murder. Police say officers searched for Pham for 8 months before he turned himself in to police on Friday.
He is charged with two counts of first- and second degree attempted murder, two counts of first- and second degree assault, reckless endangerment and multiple gun charges, according to police.
Pham reportedly visited the workplace of his estranged girlfriend, Lan Phan, with whom he has two children, at approximately 7 p.m. on July 14, say police. Police say Pham was walking to Nail and Hair Care Spa in the 5700 block of Richards Valley Road when he saw Phan's friend Phuong Thanh Do waiting outside to pick her up from work.
Pham approached Do, and they got into a fight, say police. Then Pham allegedly shot Do several times and chased after Do as he ran into the nail salon. Police say Pham found Phan inside the nail salon and shot her.
Do and Phan were taken to Shock Trauma in critical condition, and survived, say police. They were later released.
Police say they are investigating details about Pham's whereabouts over the last eight months.
