PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY POLICE, Md. (WUSA) - The Prince George's County Police Department is investigating a hit and run accident that occurred Thursday in Temple Hills.
On February 7, at around 6:30 p.m., police officers went to the 4700 block of Wheeler Road to respond to a hit and run report. When they arrived on the scene, police found a 14-year-old boy in the road, who they then rushed to a hospital. The boy is currently in critical condition.
The preliminary police investigation shows the teenager was trying to cross the road, not in a crosswalk, and was hit by a taxi. The cab did not stop.
With the help of a witness, police officers found the car at the Southern Avenue Metro Station.
Charges against the driver are pending. Speed, reportedly, does appear to be a factor in the accident.
