CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. (WUSA) -- A Maryland fire marshal says that a fire that caused $25,000 in damage to a Charlotte Hall home on Friday afternoon was set by the homeowner.
According to the fire marshal, officials preliminary investigation indicates that Kenny Farrell intentionally set the master bedroom of a house in the 13200 block of Budds Landing Place on fire. Officials say that a smoke alarm was there but did not activate.
Farrell was transported to the Civista Hospital for smoke inhalation and a mental evaluation, say officials.
Twenty five firefighters were able to put the fire out in about a minute.
The fire is still under investigation.
