Lionel Newsome of District Heights, Md. Arrested For Attempted Second Degree Murder In Gas Station Stabbing

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. (WUSA) -- A man wanted for attempted second degree murder following a stabbing at a gas station last month, was found hiding in a bedroom in District Heights, say Prince George's County Sheriff's Office authorities.

Authorities say Lionel Newsome was arrested Oct. 26 for the stabbing of a man in the 6300 block of Marlboro Pike in District Heights on Oct. 18. Newsome is accused of stabbing a man with a knife after an argument with the victim's friend at the gas station. 

Deputies later found Newsome in a downstairs bedroom in the 6800 block of Kipling Parkway. He was charged with attempted second degree murder, first degree assault, reckless endangerment and possessing a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure.
