LEONARDTOWN, Md. (WUSA) -- Victoria Gardiner, 45, was indicted for her role in a major prescription drug fraud investigation.

Gardiner began the fraud scheme in December 2011. In all, a street value of $85,000 of prescription drugs were obtained. The drugs were distributed in Charles, St. Mary's and Calvert Counties.

The St. Mary's County Vice/Narcotics Division is also investigating insurance fraud.

Gardiner, 45, has been released pending trail.

Several others involved in the prescription fraud have been charged and arrested:

Thomas Wayne Hamilton, 24-years-old of Charlotte Hall; Charlene Mae Danenfelser-Burton, 47-years-old of Lexington Park and Christine Lee Calero, 33-years-old of Bowie, Md. were all charged with Possession of Oxycodone and Possession of Hydrocodone with the intent to Distribute.

Travis Hassler Alhers, 22-years-old of California, Md. was charged with Manufacturing and Unlawful Issue Counterfeit Currency.

Michelle Lee Anderson, 37-years-old of Lexington Park, and Sharia Natalia Buck, 24-years-old of Lusby, Md. were charged with Possession of Cocaine with the intent to Distribute.

David Robert Lowe, 28-years-old of Valley Lee, was indicted for several counts related to passing fraudulent prescriptions.

Susan Mary Wieber, 45-years-old of Ridge, charged with Possession of Marijuana with the intent to Distribute.
