FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA) -  Breaking news: someone wanted to make headlines, so decided that stealing the news was the way to go. An unknown person or persons stole a newspaper vending machine from a Park and Ride stop earlier this month, according to the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack.

The vending box, belonging to the Frederick News Post, was taken sometime between midnight and 7 a.m. on June 9-10. It disappeared from the Park and Ride at 8500 Old National Pike in Frederick off Exit 56 from I-70.

The missing news box is red painted metal with "Frederick News Post" printed on each side of the machine. No photo was available, but the coin-payment newsbox is similar to those pictured.
