ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA) -- A police spokesperson says that a man was working in a utility truck when he fell from a platform and then was struck by a truck in Rockville.
Police were originally called to the intersection of Route 355 (Frederick Avenue) and King Farm Boulevard at approximately 10:40 a.m. Friday for a pedestrian accident. They later learned that the man had been on a platform suspended above the ground when for some unknown reason he fell off the platform and hit the ground. he was then struck by a truck.
The man was transported to a trauma center with serious and life-threatening injuries.
The accident is now being investigated by Occupational Safety and Health Administration and by police.
