Jason Schmale, charged with traffic infractions and weapons violations in Anne Arundel County
PASADENA, Md. (WUSA) -- Anne Arundel County police charged a man with multiple traffic infractions and weapons violations after a hit and run crash in Pasadena on Sunday.
Police say 26-year-old Jason Schmale of Glen Burnie, Md. was driving a car on Fort Smallwood Road when he struck a street sign and drove through a wooden fence of a home on Montrose Road. Police say Schmale then drove away, leaving behind the front bumper of his car which still had the Maryland registration attached.
An officer conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle in the area of the owner's address, say police. When officers found Schmale, they say, officers spotted an empty holster attached to his belt. A search of his vehicle led officers to a loaded 9mm Ruger in a case on the passenger side floorboard.
Schmale was arrested and charged with traffic infractions and weapons violations.
