WHEATON, Md. (WUSA) -- Captain Garcia with the Mongomery County Fire Department reports that construction crews struck a gas line at approximately 12:40 p.m. while in the parking area in the Northgate Plaza Shopping Center.
The Wells Fargo bank was evacuated and crews are monitoring the levels of gas in other shops. No other places have been evacuated at this time.
One lane of southbound Georgia Avenue is affected by fire equipment.
There are no reported injuries.
