Maryland ends ACC run in Military Bowl vs Marshall

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland's first bowl appearance under Randy Edsall will be the football program's last game as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

So it is with mixed emotions that the Terrapins take on Marshall in the Military Bowl, knowing they will represent the ACC for a final time before heading to the Big Ten in 2014.

Maryland tight end Dave Stinebaugh says the team's primary focus on Friday is to win the game. But he acknowledged that it's "bittersweet" to leave the conference that the Terrapins have been a part of since 1953.

After winning two games in Edsall's first season and four last year, Maryland will be playing in its first bowl game since 2010.

Marshall averages 43 points per game and seeking its first 10-win season since 2002.
