Man wanted for trying to choke, abduct woman

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police are looking for a man they say attacked a woman near her vehicle on Thursday night.

According to police, a woman had just gotten off of work and was standing next to her vehicle in a parking lot at Potomac Mills Circle and Nazarene Way in Woodbridge shortly before 9:30 p.m. when a man approached her. The man first asked her for directions but then grabbed her and began to choke her.

The two struggled and fell to the ground, say police. The man then continued to strangle the victim, demanding her car keys. Then he tried to force her into the back seat of her car, but ultimately ended up running away, according to police.

The woman suffered minor injuries in the incident, say police.

Police are still looking for the suspect, who is described as a Hispanic male, between 20 and 25 years old, and 150 pounds with a thin build and short black hair. Police say he was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and a black beanie style cap.
