WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Metropolitan Police are investigating another homicide in northeast D.C., less than a day after a man was killed in a daylight double shooting.
The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Ray Andre Harrison, of Northeast, D.C., Metropolitan police said.
MPD officials say officers responded to the 1300 block of Adams Street around 2:20 a.m. for a report of a shooting. Once they arrived on the scene, they found a man who had been shot in the chest. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
Right now police have few details to release on the incident, and for now, the motive for the shooting remains unclear. Police do not have any information to release on possible suspects.
This latest shooting comes on the heels of a deadly daylight double shooting in the 5300 block of Clay Terrace that claimed the life of Antwan Baker of Southeast D.C. Baker was gunned down while standing with an acquaintance, who was also injured, around 11 a.m. Thursday morning.
This latest fatal shooting marks the 142nd homicide in the District this year.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
