Man sentenced in murder-for-hire of father in Va.

ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the death of his father in 2012.

Arlington County police say 49-year-old Mack Wood, Jr. of Richmond, Va., pleaded guilty to capital murder in an Arlington County courtroom on Tuesday.

Eighty-seven-year-old Mack Wood of Arlington was murdered outside his home in the 3700 block of N. Wakefield Street on October 13, 2012.

After an extensive investigation, police identified three suspects: Wood, Jr., and Jean Caleb Pierre and Sapien Edmonds, both of Henrico, Va. All were charged with murder.
