Man found shot dead near baseball field bench

ANNAPOLIS (WUSA9) -- Annapolis Police Department officials say the city's first homicide of the year occurred on Sunday.

Police say a man was found near the bench of the baseball field in the 1100 block of Madison Street at 1:20 a.m. Sunday. He suffered from gun shot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police have identified the man as 21-year-old Mark Alexander Cooper of Glenarden, Md.
