WHITE MARSH, Md. (AP) - Baltimore County police say a man died in their custody after officers used electronic stun guns to subdue him.

The man was arrested Wednesday night after police say he led officers on a chase that started in Harford County. Police say the man was talking to officers after being handcuffed when he began to have a medical emergency. County paramedics treated the man and took him to a hospital, where he died shortly after 9 p.m.

Police say preliminary evidence suggests the man may have taken illegal drugs.

The chase ended in White Marsh after police say the man crashed into a police car. Harford County deputies confronted the man, and police say he resisted arrest, which led deputies to use their stun guns on him.
