WASHINGTION (WUSA9) - A woman was critically injured overnight Monday after police said she was struck by a car in Northeast D.C.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. on New York Avenue.
Police said the driver stayed on the scene and the victim was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
Due to the crash, officials closed all eastbound lanes of New York Avenue between Montana Avenue and Bladensburg Road. The road has since reopened.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
Police continue to investigate.
