Woman dies after police-involved shooting in DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - A woman died Tuesday night after a police-involved shooting in Southwest, D.C. 

The shooting happened in 100 block of Joliet Street SW near the Bald Eagle Recreation Center.

Police say the initial call was for an accident on Joliet Street. There was second call that came in about a woman with a gun. 

When officer's arrived, police say the woman ignored orders to drop the gun. Two officers fired at the woman. Police say she was injured and transported to a local hospital. 

The woman has been identified as 41-year-old Isabelle Duval of Winchester, Va.
