Woman in Va. escapes abduction incident while jogging

ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police are investigating an attempted abduction incident in Virginia.

It happened on Sunday, May 4 around 6:00 a.m. at the 3400 block of S. Utah Street. Officials say a 30 year-old woman reported that as she was jogging, a white four door sedan pulled to the side of the road and asked her for directions. That's when the suspect grabbed a hold of her, and forcefully pulled her into his car.

She was able to fight off the suspect and run to her home, police said.

Officials describe the suspect as a 'white male in his 40's with a medium build, brown hair and a goatee. He was possibly wearing a white t-shirt at the time of the incident'.

After the incident, he fled the scene in the southbound direction of Utah Street, police said.
