Woman arrested for cutting victim in Frederick home

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Frederick woman was arrested for cutting a woman late Wednesday night, police said. 

The assault happened around 10:33 p.m. in the 800 block of Heather Ridge Drive, Frederick police said. 

A woman was found with a cut to her hand and cuts to her upper back, authorities said. The assault happened inside of a home and involved two women. 

Yazmin Shantamere Rollins, 30 of Frederick was determined to be the suspect. Police determined that a verbal argument escalated and turned into a physical fight between the two women. According to authorities the two women do know each other. 

The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. She was later released. 

Rollins is being charged with one count of first degree assault, and one count of second degree assault.
