FAIRFAX, VA (WUSA9) - Regardless of your politics, whether your candidate won or lost, most of us will admit, this election took a toll on both sides.
There were things that mattered and things that didn't.
Your religion, race, gender and sexual orientation didn't matter in Fairfax on Wednesday. And after a bruising and divisive election cycle, neither did your politics.
On Wednesday, the liberals and conservatives, independents and the apolitical gathered to sing together, embrace each other and heal.
Perhaps a much needed reminder, whether you were delighted or devastated by this election, is that what we really value as a nation is love and unity.
