Woman assaulted, nearly abducted in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, VA (WUSA9) - A woman was assaulted and nearly abducted in Woodbridge, Virginia early Saturday morning, police said.

Around 5:10 a.m., police responded to Castile Court and Oakwood Drive to investigate an assault of a 33-year-old woman.

She walking in the area of Castile Court when police say she was approached by an unknown male.

During the encounter, the suspect grabbed the woman and attempted to pull her to a nearby area.

A struggle ensured and the suspect assaulted the victim, causing minor injuries.

The victim broke free and contacted the police. The suspect fled on foot and has not been located.

He is described as a black male between 30 and 35 years old, 5’5” tall, weighing 170 pounds. He has dark hair, but no facial hair. He was wearing a black shirt and khaki shorts.
