Williams faces defense questioning in McDonnell trial

RICHMOND, Va. (WUSA9) --"I just felt the earth move and I wasn't having sex!!!" Maureen McDonnell wrote to Jonnie Williams in an email on August 31st, 2011.

Defense attorneys for Maureen McDonnell say that email was one of 12-hundred texts and phone calls exchanged by Maureen McDonnell and Williams that prove the two had a close relationship.

Jonnie Williams said that he didn't recall that message, but he thought it was funny.

That message was just one of the things that Williams could not recall during the defense team's questioning, on Friday. After hours of detailing his life story and specific conversations he had with Bob and Maureen McDonnell, Jonnie Williams said he could not remember a what he said five days ago.

Jonnie Williams answered: "I may have. I don't recall."

Williams did remember being asked to wear a wire to record a conversation with the Governor... Williams said he stopped the meeting and called his lawyer.

He says he gave the McDonnells 165-thousand dollars in loans and gifts so that the Governor would help him promote his product.
