Va. woman arrested for child neglect and DUI

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County Police arrested a 25-year-old woman Friday in Woodbridge, Va. for not having a one-year-old in a safety seat and for driving under the influence.

Authorities said deputies responded to a crash in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and River Ridge Blvd in Woodbridge on Friday around 12:30 p.m.

Deputies found Victoria Isabel Holmes, of Woodbridge at the scene and determined she had been driving under the influence. According to authorities, Holmes did not have her one-year-old child in a safety seat or belt.

Holmes was arrested and the child was given to another family member.

Authorities said Holmes is being charged with felony child abuse/neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, driving under the influence, and resisting arrest.
