VA TD Bank robber arrested

FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fairfax Police have arrested the man they say robbed a TD Bank on July 3rd, 2013.

Officials have arrested 34-year-old David James Ott of Alexandria and charged him with robbery and use of a firearm.

Police say the robbery happened at the TD Bank located at 11098 Fairfax Boulevard, in Fairfax, Va.

According to authorities Ott went up to the counter, pulled out a handgun and demanded money. Officials say that the teller complied and Ott ran from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officials report that Ott was taken into custody without incident on July 31st. Ott was arrested at the Ted Britt Ford dealership on Fairfax Boulvard where he worked.

Ott has been charged with robbery (Section 18.2-58 of the Code of Virginia) and use of firearm in the commission of a felony (Section 18.2-53.1), officials report.

Officials say that Ott has been transported to Fairfax County Adult Dentention Center and that he is being held without bond.
