Va. police: Man assaults officer at Best Buy

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County Police Department arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with assaulting a law enforcement officer at a Best Buy in Woodbridge, Va. on Monday afternoon.

Police said, they responded to the Best Buy located at 2735 Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge, Va. to investigate a fraud case. Authorities said, an employee stated a customer tried to make an account using fake identification.

Police talked to the man when they got to the store, however he tried to run out of the store, police said. The suspect pushed one of the officers and then ran out of the stores, according to authorities.

According to police, nobody was injured, however two set of sliding glass doors were damaged.

Police arrested Steven Hansen Ramirez- Lugo, 22, of the Bronx, New York. He is being charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, destruction of property, possession of false identification, providing false identification to law enforcement, obtaining goods by false pretenses and resisting arrest.

Police said, he is being held without bond.
