Va. man arrested in Giant store robbery

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WUSA9) -- Deputies arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with a Giant store robbery that happened in Spotsylvania County, Va. Thursday afternoon.

According to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the Hilltop Giant located at 10346 Courthouse Road for the report of an ongoing robbery.

Employees said, a man was in the meat department and took a lot of seafood. The suspect then hid the seafood underneath his clothing and tried to walk out of the store.

The man was then confronted by employees. The suspect pulled out a knife and cut one of the employees in the arm.

According to authorities, he fled the store. Deputies located Lucas Taylor, 34, of Goochland, Va. at an empty home in the 10600 block of Leavells Road.

Taylor is being charged with robbery, felony shoplifting, and malicious wounding.
