Va. man arrested in assaulting and cutting victim

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Officers arrested a 21-year-old man in Woodbridge, Va. for assaulting and then pulling out a knife and cutting a 45-year-old man's finger Wednesday evening.

Police said they responded to a residence in the 14200 block of Chesterfield drive in Woodbridge, Va. at 7:46 p.m to investigate the report of an assault.

The victim told police he had an altercation with a known acquaintance, which escalated into a physical altercation.

Police said the accused assaulted the victim, and then pulled out a knife and cut the victim's finger. Police arrested the accused on the scene without further incident.

Timothy Justin Castillo, 21 of Woodbridge was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. His court date is scheduled for June 4, 2014. Castillo is being held without bond.
