Two arrested after pot purchase goes bad

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Two people were arrested after an attempted marijuana purchase went south on Monday.

Around 5:10 p.m. Prince William County Police responded to what was reported as a robbery in the 13400 block of Longwood Manor Court in Woodbridge, Prince William County Police said.

When they arrived on the scene, 19-year-old Amanda Twomey told police that she had made arrangements to purchase pot from Jackson Crisler, police reported. Twomey alleged that when she met Crisler for the exchange, Crisler pulled a gun on her, demanded money and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Further investigation revealed that Twomey had voluntarily given the money to Crisler to purchase pot from someone else, police reported.

When Twomey did not receive the marijuana from Crisler she filed the false police report, police said.

Twomey has been charged with filing a false police report and attempted possession of marijuana, she is being held without bond.

Crisler has been charged with attempted possession with intent to distribute marijuana and is being held without bond.
