Three more people arrested in Quick case

(WUSA9) -- Three people have been charged in relation to the disappearance of Waynesboro Police Department Reserve Unit Captain Kevin Quick, according to Virginia State Police.

WTVR reports that their names are Anthony Stokes, Jr., Halisi Uhuru, and Leslie Castelow.

Following reports that the three were charged with capital murder, the Virginia State Police issued a clarification. State police say that "three Northern Virginia residents became persons of interest in relation to the case. Those three were taken into custody late Thursday night and are being held at Henrico County Jail each on a charge of principle in 2nd degree to the crime of murder. This means these individuals are not being charged with Quick's homicide but in association with his death."

According the Newsleader, "Goochland County General District Court records show the following individuals have been charged as principals in the second degree of a capital murder during an abduction: Leslie H. Casterlow, of Manassas; Anthony D. Stokes Jr., of Manassas; and Uhuru Halisi, of Danville."

Virginia State Police plan to have a press conference regarding the case of the missing reserve police captain on Friday at 4 p.m. The conference was originally scheduled for 2 p.m.

On Thursday, several media outlets reported that a body found in Goochland County, Va. might be the remains of missing Quick. Waynesboro police are waiting for a positive identification to be made by a medical examiner.

Quick disappeared Friday night after he left his mother's home in Afton, Va. We're told Quick was going to see the mother of his four-month-old daughter approximately 20 miles away before his disappearance. WTVR reported that "a search warrant indicates that the last communication on Quick's phone–a text message–was made to his girlfriend. The phone was shut off around 10:54 p.m. and never used again."

Police found his silver 1999 Toyota 4Runner was on Monday in Louisa County. Three siblings were arrested on Wednesday in connection to the disappearance of Quick. Mercedes Shelton and Daniel Mathis were arrested in Alexandria and charged with one count of grand larceny. Shaunte Shelton was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant in Louisa County. WCAV reported. Mathis was also charged in connection to a shooting on Sunday in Louisa County. Kevin Quick's vehicle was believed to have been involved in that incident.

Police continue to look for information in relation to the case. The reward money for Quick was increased to $40,000.
