"Rip" Sullivan wins VA 48th special election

RICHMOND, Va. (WUSA9) -- Democrat R.C. "Rip" Sullivan won Tuesday's special election in Virginia's 48th District.

The office of the Delegate from the 48th District had previously been held by Delegate Bob Brink.

Democrat R.C. "Rip" Sullivan defeated Republican Dave Foster to become Brink's successor.

The Delegate for the 48th District represents multiple precincts in Fairfax County and Arlington County.
