Repaving of Georgetown Pike begins

GREAT FALLS, Va. (WUSA9) -- Eight miles of the Georgetown Pike (Route 193) will be repaved starting Sunday, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The repaving will be from I-495 to Springvale Road, VDOT said. The repaving will take place at night starting at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday, VDOT said.

The repaving should be completed within two months, according to VDOT.

VDOT asks drivers to take alternate routes while the road work is being done.
